The kitchen lights went out last night. Upon every entry and exit I flicked the switch in a natural way. I climbed upon my chair a few hours ago and dismantled the fixture's moth encrusted hood. The hardware store is out until Thursday, but we have an elephant nightlight--its stomach glows in fading rainbow hues; we have a minute one, covered in stars and made of glass. I scrubbed dishes, making sure that light pierced through them from a refrigerator door ajar.
