A quick on-the-go comic, straight to inks in my Moleskine. Painted in Photoshop.

In a Coccoon

Was almost mugged today. Had one of those Looney Tunes moments where I tell the guy to look behind him because a mail truck is about to hit him. Luckily I was able to walk away fast enough and into a populated area. I've killed a large portion of my internet personality. I deactivated my Facebook in order to focus on relationships with those in my immediate surroundings. I'm devoting a great amount of my time to producing comics, no matter how shitty they may seem. They will get better with time. Here. Listen to this shit.

The Librarian

Last night, at the annex of Jones and Market, I met three homeless men. One was wearing a dark hood, resembling a traditional drug dealer in the loin. Another man had a round amiable face and drank beer from a wine glass( which I had coincidentally done earlier in the night), the third man wore large opaque glasses, partially concealed under a beanie--his three jackets must have kept him warm but his manner of talking, though quiet and unaffected, was of one caught in a blizzard. He had a shopping cart filled with organized books. A large portion of his collection laid out against a crumbling wall, under a small spotlight. Romance novels, cook books, car repair guides from the seventies, covers torn off, perfect little squares of dusty glue where price tags once resided. Nothing was grabbing my attention. The librarian quickly pointed to a book I had never noticed before. The Ant World. "Their evolutionary history, their behaviour, their many varieties, and the organization of their society."
The book is from the early fifties. In a black and white photo on the back, a thin man with wind blown hair scales a mountain, he carries a test tube and squints through two round lenses. The librarian asked for a dollar, but I gave him two.
